Brother Grey is an alternative rock band from Atlanta Georgia that is now into its 3rd year and is gearing up for a great 2013. The band is prepping to release a slew of new material beginning in February and is focused on reaching a wider national audience using radio while becoming more visible online. BG is also planning on touring to support all the new music and releasing new music videos.
Pierson says, “ Its so expensive to tour these days. Without major funding its hard to put on the kind of shows you want and make a living so we are going to focus on touring key dates while increasing our fan base and brand of music. We love touring and want to play for everyone but we just have to do our part online and on the radio so we can continue to increase demand in those cities.”
BG also just finished up 3 new songs in the studio with producer Rick Beato and engineer Ken "Grand" Lanyon at Black Dog Sound.
“Beato is a wealth of musical knowledge and really focuses on the song before all the shiny stuff, Pierson says. We like all that cool production stuff but it was great to work with someone that really focuses on musicianship before all that goes in. Our band saw some changes in 2012 that redefined who we are so it made sense to shake up how we do things in the studio. We worked hard in pre production and harder at getting it right in during the recording process. We think it paid off.”
With new material comes new life. With new life brings new energy into the world. BG is poised to release some of their best new songs yet in hopes that you the listener will talk, think and release your own energy into the world because of it.
The band’s first new single will be “Break Free”. It has everything you want in a rock song. Great melody, great lyrics and to quote producer Andy Reilly “its so big it’s like a Walrus just sat on your fu%*ing face man.”-insert fart joke here;) “Its about screwing up and coming out positively on the other end, says Pierson. We all have faults that hold us back because we are scared of the unknown but sometimes you have to break free from everything you know in order to get to where you’re supposed to be.” [+]
