Raised in Folsom, California. Brendan Stone began Blue Oaks in late 2007 as a way of putting his poetry and thought to sound. Performing live from the age of 15 in Northern California beginning with open mic nights to house shows and coffee houses, on to larger venues. With hard hitting drummer Cody Walker joining his side in late 2012 Blue Oaks gained local acclaim and growing anticipation toward a debut release. As an avid record collector, Stone was set on having a Blue Oaks vinyl single released prior to a full length album. A 7" vinyl single "Hit by a Train from New York City Blues" w/ "Skeleton Key" (featuring Cody Walker on Drums and Piano) was tracked to Analog Tape at The Atomic Garden Studio in Palo Alto, CA with Producer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor, Whirr) . The vinyl was released on December 7th, 2013 limited to 300 copies pressed on mixed colored vinyl. Now relocated to Austin, TX and returning to his roots as the lone member of Blue Oaks, Stone is currently in studio recording the debut full length album "To Be Kind is Sin" with plans for release in Fall of 2015.
