Adrian Victor Torres was a 21-year-old resident of Irving, Texas.
On May 3, 2017, Adrian Victor Torres fatally shot Janeera Gonzalez in a murder-suicide on the North Lake College campus. Social Media sources show a history of dating. However, the Gonzalez family believes that their daughter was being stalked by Torres.
After searching the adjoining buildings, officers found the body of Adrian Victor Torres, 21, inside a locker room shower stall in Building “F”. Police said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Adrian was described by witnesses as a: White male, orange tank top, buzz cut, armed with a hand gun and carrying a black jacket.
A tutor at North Lake says she saw a man (Adrian) shoot a woman Janeera Gonzalez 3 times in a hallway. The woman was sitting down and close to the shooter. Irving police have confirmed that three shots were fired on the campus Wednesday just before noon.
One student didn't want his face shown but says he was sitting on a bench with Janeera when Torres walked up to her and shot her before walking to another part of the school and killing himself.
According to Janeera Gonzalez's family, Torres was stalking her for years before the shooting. However, her instagram and facebook pages show that they had an on and off relationship for the last five years. Her family says, Gonzalez was dating someone else.
"He probably felt like revenge, like she broke his heart and it's not a fact, because they were not in a relationship. But in his mind apparently he thought they were," Reynolds said.
There were no restraining orders or reports of stalking against him, according to online public records. Irving police say the only time they've had an interaction with him was when he claimed his car was broken into in 2016.
