Vanderpump Rules is an American reality television series airing on Bravo that debuted on January 7, 2013, with the first season originally eight episodes. A spin-off of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the series features The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Lisa Vanderpump in the title role and her staff at Vanderpump's West Hollywood, California, restaurant SUR.

Andy Cohen later announced during the February 4, 2013, Watch What Happens Live episode that there would be a Vanderpump Rules reunion. The reunion was filmed on February 9, 2013.[2] It was announced in April 2013 that the series had been renewed for a second season.[5] The second season debut was a two-hour crossover episode with the fourth-season premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on November 4, 2013.[4] The second season reunion was filmed on January 10, 2014.[5] Vanderpump Rules was renewed for a third season in April 2014.[21] The new season premiered on November 3, 2014.[7]

The show was renewed for a fourth season, which premiered on November 2, 2015. The show was later renewed for a fifth season.[24] On September 26, 2016, the trailer and cast were announced, along with the premiere date of November 7, 2016.[98][2] On January 9, 2017, the tenth episode of the fifth season of Vanderpump Rules titled "Summer House Rules"[2][2] served as a cross-over preview to Summer House.[2][2]

On April 10, 2017, it was announced by Bravo that Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright will star in a spin off show entitled Vanderpump Rules: Jax And Brittany Take Kentucky.[2]


Vanderpump Rules follows Lisa Vanderpump's employees at SUR, as they work on building their futures and the drama that occurs between them.

  • Lisa Vanderpump: Vanderpump is a co-owner of SUR and the mother of Pandora and Max, who are friends with several SUR staff members. She is best known for being on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

  • Stassi Schroeder (Main: Season 1–3; 5-6, Guest appearances : Season 4): Stassi used to be a server at SUR and previously wrote a fashion blog column for Pandora. She has made previous TV appearances in The Amazing Race: Family Edition with her father Mark, stepmother Char, and brother Hunter (they were eliminated in 7th place) and later in Queen Bees (she finished 6th place).[5]
  • Tom Sandoval: Sandoval is a bartender at SUR and an actor. He had a lead role in the 2008 film Playing with Fire[5][5] and made an appearance in The Hills during a Teen Vogue casting interview.[5]
  • Ariana Madix (Recurring: Season 2, Main: Season 3-6), Ariana Madix is a bartender at SUR and an aspiring actress. She was transferred from Villa Blanca.
  • Tom Schwartz (Recurring: Season 1–2, Main: Season 3-6), frequently referred to as Schwartz, is an aspiring model and actor who is close friends with a majority of the SUR staff and married to Katie.
  • DJ James Kennedy (Recurring: Season 3, Main: Season 4-6), James was a busboy at SUR and a DJ.
  • Lala Kent (Recurring: Seasons 4-mid 5 Main: Season 6), Lala was a hostess at SUR and friend of James.
  • Brittany Cartwright (Recurring: Seasons 4–5, Main: Season 6), Jax's girlfriend and a waitress at SUR who used to work at Hooters.

After Show (2015)

On November 6, 2015, Bravo premiered talk show entitled Vanderpump Rules After Show which features conversations between the cast members of Vanderpump Rules discussing the same week's events and answering questions about their lives both on and off the show. The talk show is hosted by Julie Goldman and Brandy Howard.

How They Got Here (2017)

On November 27, 2017 Bravo will Premier Vanderpump Rules: How They Got Here will recap all the five seasons of Vanderpump Rules before starting the sixth season in December.[5]
