Ron S. Geffner is an American attorney and former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement lawyer.[3] Geffner is a founding partner of Sadis & Goldberg,[4] where he heads Financial Services Group providing legal counsel to over 1,000 funds including domestic and offshore hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, commodity pools and hybrid investment funds. His clients also include international financial institutions and family offices.[6] Geffner was previously in-house counsel to the Investment Management Industry Services Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers.[7]

Sadis & Goldbberg LLP continues to be recognized as one of the top law firms in the United States in the alternative investment industry. Most recently, HFM US Hedge Fund Services Awards honored Sadis in 2017 as the Best Onshore Law Firm in connection with Hedge Fund Start Ups. Early life

Geffner began his career with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he investigated and prosecuted violations of the federal securities laws with an emphasis on enforcement in connection with violations of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.[3] He also assisted federal and state criminal agencies, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office, in their investigations of criminal violations of federal and state securities laws.[3]

Public Service, Boards, memberships and awards

Geffner is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars.[3] He served on the Board of the Hedge Fund Association and was previously Vice President for the international not-for-profit industry trade and nonpartisan lobbying organization devoted to advancing transparency, development and trust in alternative investments.[3] Geffner is also founding partner and a member Sadis & Goldberg's Executive Committee. His law firm has been routinely voted "Best Global Law Firm" and "North American Law Firm" for hedge funds.[3] Ron just received the New York Metro Super Lawyer award - 2017. On September 27, 2017, Ron was appointed as Director and Chair of audit committee of Midpoint Holdings Ltd. Midpoint is an FCA authorized payments institution with the world's first authentic peer-to-peer foreign exchange marketplace. [3]

Personal life

Geffner made a cameo appearance as a federal agent in a US documentary television series on Investigation Discovery.[3] He is quadrilingual​ as well, speaking English, Hebrew, Yiddish, and Arabic.
