Eric Pinkins Jr. (born August 7, 1991) is an American football linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at San Diego State.



Early years

Pinkins attended Inderkum High School in Sacramento, California. He was selected to the 2008 all-Metro football defense second-team in high school.[2] Pinkins was named as an all-San Joaquin honorable mention by the National Football Foundation.[2] He recorded 52 tackles, 3 interceptions, 9 pass deflections, four blocked punts, and a fumble recovery in his Junior season of high school.[2] He registered 63 tackles, two interceptions and 12 pass deflections in his senior season of high school.[2] He was a member of his high school track and field team.[2]

He finished college with a total of 172 Tackles, 3 Sacks, 2 Forced fumbles and 10 Pass deflections.[3]

Professional career

Seattle Seahawks

On May 10, 2014, Pinkins was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.[4] On September 5, 2015, he was waived. On September 6, 2015, he was signed to the Seahawks' pracitce squad. On September 22, 2015, Pinkins was released from the practice squad.[5] On October 14, 2015, he was signed to the practice squad. On November 21, 2015, he was promoted to the active roster.
