Gerald Fischman was an American journalist based in Annapolis, Maryland. He served as the editorial page editor at the Capital Gazette. He was a casualty in the The Capital Gazette Mass Shooting.  
Fischman is remembered by his colleagues for his shy demeanor, incisive writing, wry wit and the cardigan with holes in the elbows that he always seemed to be wearing. He was also known for being in the office at all hours. 
He was employed by the paper for 26 years.
